At Wednesday night’s Britannia
Awards in Los Angeles James Bond actor Daniel Craig received
the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year. The Britannia Awards
are BAFTA Los Angeles’ highest accolade, a celebration of achievements
honouring individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to
advancing the entertainment arts.
Winners included Daniel
Day-Lewis (Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film),
Quentin Tarantino (John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in
Directing), Trey Parker and Matt Stone (Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award
for Excellence in Comedy) and video game designer Will Wright (SimCity)
who was presented with the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for
Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.Proceeds from the gala ceremony
support BAFTA Los Angeles’ on-going education, scholarship, community
outreach and archival projects.

Friday, October 5th, 2012 will be Global James Bond Day, marking the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise.
Best Of Bond… James Bond, a new collection of digitally remastered music
from the franchise’s history, will be released in two configurations on
October 8th (October 9th in North America). Best Of Bond… James Bond
features the memorable theme songs from all 22 official Bond films and
and as a deluxe, “50 Years - 50 Tracks” double CD. Both will be
available on CD and digitally.
Day five and the tour travelled from Nene Valley Railway, Peterborough
to Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire, one of the key locations in GOLDFINGER.
Bond girl, Eunice Gayson, launched the official Bond Blu-ray Relay today
at Eilean Donan Castle, situated on the edge of Loch Duich, Scotland.
Eunice, who played Sylvia Trench in DR. NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE,
arrived at 9am in the QUANTUM OF SOLACE Aston Martin DBS. The castle,
home to the British Secret Service in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, played
host to both loyal fans and the national press.
